Nov 7th in Ha

Post by MapleRidge »

Good day everyone...

A long stretch of poor weather and work inferring with solar astronomy has left me browsing the post here in the past 3 weeks or so, but today looked promising with crystal clear skies mid morning today. As luck would have it, by the time I was home for lunch there was more cloud than sun

The efforts to get anything more than some full disk images was a loss, but I did manage to pull of a couple of full disk images through the LS80T/B1200Ha solar scope and PGR camera. The image below is a composite of separate disk and limb exposures showing a nice collection of proms, especially a large one at the 3 o'clock position and another around 1 o'clock that shows a lot of faint tendrils.

That is it from today...maybe sunny again tomorrow and I hope my timing will work out better ;)

Mark, Alexandra, Derek, and Franco...

Thank to each of you for your feedback...always appreciated :bow

The promised sun today was late making an appearance so no chance to follow-up...now the forecast is for a deep freeze and maybe some clear skies on the weekend if all goes well.

Alexandra, I had cloud until sometime after midnight and the one time I was up the moon had washed out most of the sky so if there were any aurora I missed them!
