Nov 17th - Short Session

Post by MapleRidge » Sun Nov 19, 2017 12:19 am

Good day all...

Another short session yesterday (Friday), with a persistent band of thin cirrus cloud hanging in the south. Frustrating since the sky was clear blue from about 45 deg above the southern horizon all the way to the northern horizon  Seeing was poor, so I limited myself to a few full disk images through the LS80T/B1200Ha solar scope.

The image below is a composite of a full disk and a longer exposure limb Image (inverted). Nice to see some limited activity on the disk and a few nice prom too...been great to see the higher resolution images other have posted.

Cloud and rain/snow mix for the remainder of the weekend, and I need to be away for work meetings until mid week so I'm hoping for a few clear days later next week.

Great disk Brian! Know what you mean when the conditions are like that.

Funny how those clouds are a world phenomenon, only found to the south of solar observers ;)
Great full disc though :hamster: :bow

Great FD image Brian in spite of the clouds. Sometimes I also have to wait for a clear patch in the sky

Very nice FD, Brian. I always like the inverted prom view such as this. Looks like it's just hanging there :).
