Sun filament

Post by JohnW »

22 Nov. There is a large filament on the sun today - this image is a single exposure taken thru a Lunt 100 Ha scope (SS) using a Canon 550d camera.
Sun was almost overhead at the time this was taken making it a bit difficult to work. Sky fair. I estimated it to be 564,000 km long using the GONG image.
Thanks for viewing. John W.

Wow John,
Massive filament and impressive results for a single shot with the 550D. The Lunt 100 seems like a real performer.

Nice image John. The size of this filament makes you realize his how small we are.
