Sun 28th December 2017

I really did enjoy my little solar observing session at lunch today with the PSTs, but I am so useless when it comes to the cold, I keep looking at the Moon and then can't bear to go outside to freeze.
Oh well, I hope you enjoy the Halpha and CaK PST / DMK41

On 23rd December I was treated to a lovely display of iridescent clouds at sunset

Today I have been making an ND3.8 solar filter for the C11 with a kind donation from Ewan Hobbs. So it is ready to use with the C11 now in the spring to look at the Sun in hopefully warmer conditions than it would be to view the Moon at the moment.

Thanks for looking and Happy New Year!

Thank you, Alexandra, for the nice views.....

It looks like you are on your way with the filter.

Great disks Alexandra! You should get better results with that filter in the new year.
