Changing focuser
Changing focuser
Hi all, I am considering changing the original focuser on my Lunt 50 ha for a crayford style one, has anyone done this and if so could you explain in idiots style how to go about it. Thanks in advance. The focuser I’m looking at is the red one specifically for Lunt.

Re: Changing focuser
You have several options
Moonlite

Feathertouch

The feathertouch is great but you need to buy an adapter as well

Thanks for that, what I really want help with is replacing the original with which ever one I decide on. Are they both the same fitting or do they differ?

Re: Changing focuser
Hiya, I have done this. It is really easy to do, the old one just unscrews and the new one screws into its place. I have tried and owned the original helical, the starlight and the moonlite, and, IMHO the latter is by far the superior of the options available.

Re: Changing focuser
The Moonlite units are excellent upgrades to any scope...I have at least 5 of the 2" models and a 2.5" in use with various motor options.
Ron provides outstanding support as well.
