Feb 6, Sun

Post by JohnW »

Feb 6. 4.20 am UT. Two pics taken today late afternoon with sun high in sky and very hot (36°C). Both images of the sun's E limb showing AR2699, some prominences and maybe a faint filament. Yellow pic is at 540 nm thru a herschel wedge. Orange pic is thru a Lunt 100 Ha scope at 656 nm. Both single exposures with a Canon 550d camera. Thanks for viewing.

Thanks John!

Too bad my main set-up has been disassembled and waiting for the warmer time. Hope this is not the last sun spot before the sun will sleept.

Lovely to see pictures from you again John, that is a super active region. I keep wondering if it will be the last or not ;)
