8th Feb 2699

Post by ffellah »

Hello all: anticipating that this weekend the weather will be cloudy and rainy here, I had about 15 minutes this morning before work for a quick shoot with this new point and shoot camera I am experimenting with. The disk edges still leave a lot to desire, probably again because of seeing, but I thought 2699 is showing OK, considering no telescope was used and the very quick session.

Nice shots Franco! The saw tooth limb is just down to the seeing.

Wow! these are fabulous :hamster: are these single frame images? if so, perhaps stacking will get rid of the seeing sawtooth

Thank you Steve, Mark, Alexandra and Eric for your comments.

These are single shot frames processed in Photoshop and Astra Image only.

That's pretty amazing for a point and shoot with no scope! Do you mind my asking what equipment you used?

This is the camera. Nikon Coolpix P900.

I would say this zoom is almost a telescope....

The advantage is that setting up time is literally a couple of minutes.

Hi Franco...

These are impressive images taken from the camera setup. Like you say it would be quick to setup to grab WL images!!!
