Kevin is coming back

Post by sulcis2000 » Sun Feb 25, 2018 2:18 pm

Hi all

after 4 months of stop due to the low altitude of the Sun, today I've tried to capture some prominences.

Here are my results.

Sun today 2018.02.25
Truss Refractor 228 F8 (FL = 7800mm)
Daystar Quark Chromosphere Version
ASI174MM

Best regards

Ale

Hi Alessandro,

Amazing images of the Sun´s fur

Do I understand your telescope correctly by assuming that cell on the front is a refractor lens of 228mm diameter, then comes the ERF and then the tube holds ¿ more lenses ? and at the end is the H-alpha filter and the camera ?

Thanks and regards Rainer

What a beautifull solar scope !!!
What is the approximated weight of the "optical tube" without the optics ?
The images are lovely too.

Hi Rainer

yes you are right. The lens cell is 228 mm diameter. Then there is a DERF Baader (110mm) and at the end there is a halfa filter (Daystar Quark Chromosphere Version) and the camera (ASI174mm)

Best regards

Alessandro

Hi Christian

The truss tube without lens cell is about 16 kilos.
