FD H-Alpha Sun on 6 Mar from Singapore

Post by yltansg »

After successful iEQ45 repair, the solar imaging jig (77mm Borg refractor with DS SF50 and ASI174 camera) is in action again.

A cloudy sky at 8am in the morning.

The Moon was hanging on the other side of the sky.

Image
A long filament about 10 times the length of earth diameter is moving across the disk

A negative rendition shows the floating filament

And a coloured one for good measure.

Alfred:
Good about the repair. BTW, you got beautiful shots from a small aperture filter and from an impressive observing site.
Best regards,
Eric.

Thanks Eric. I am trying out this new site for C8 G-Band imaging in the next 2 weeks. If found to be better than my last site, I will put my C14 fitted with a full aperture D-ERF here . The D-ERF should be coming in soon . So look out for it :)

Thanks Franco, Robert, Rainer and Alexandra for your kind comments. The 77mm borg refractor with a Solarscope DS 50mm H-Alpha etalons is one of my solar workhorses for full disk imaging.

It has been very cloudy lately. Here is a fuller view of the imaging site :)

Nice views of scopes, the sun and the horizon. I reckon your elevated observing position is a great help when it comes to your hi-res imaging.

Thanks Mark and Marios.

It has been cloudy and we have lots of clouds. I have placed hi-res imaging on hold and continue with SF50 imaging.
