WL granulation 1st April

Post by robert »

Frosty and calm, so I tried imaging from just after sunrise. The seeing was good early on as measured by the SSM but the images were better when the sun got above 19° altitude, but the seeing was above 1.5 arc sec.

I am going to try to do solar animation combining the altitude above 19° and seeing better than 1 arc sec on the SSM in future.

I have reduced the size of the file to 1200px wide but it is still 26Mb. 15 sec cadence for 7.5 minutes using Skywatcher 200mm Newtonian, ND3.8, TV x5, Continuum and UV/IR cut. Effective FL 5000mm. PGR Chameleon 3

Also a still shot and the SSM chart, seeing 1.5-2.0 arc sec during this record, time marked on the chart.

Robert

Stunning work Robert, I know how much effort it takes to create such a good quality animation such as this :bow :bow :bow

Great resolution of the granulation Robert, and the animation shows structural changes as well.

Great session :bow
