Current "status report" for the ED80 / Lunt50 "Frankenscope" Project?
Switched to ImPPG for processing (as recommended!) & still twiddling:
Typical Image via the *standard* Lunt50:
Rest from Frankenscope: ED80 objective (Baader ERF) then ~ 2x Barlow

Re: Sun HA 5th April (Disks + Proms)
Excellent results with the Frankenscope. Definitely try sharpening the full disk at a smaller radius 1-1.3 pixels, looks like you're sharpening at 3+ pixel radius. Too large a radius hides finer detail.

Here's my take from yesterday - same single stack scope, same camera. 1px 175 iterations
Not onband at the bottom, but gives you an idea.

Thanks Mark! I will think on... I always LIKE the fellow "experimentalists"!marktownley wrote: ↑Fri Apr 06, 2018 7:23 am Excellent results with the Frankenscope. Still rather "making it up, as I go along" re. many of many setting. Human
nature to compare, so useful to receive positive critique and suggestions.
May well be back for more! I do commend FUN (n.b. safe) Frankenscopes!
Cheers, Macavity / Chris
