Thursday Sunshine - 5th April
I was awake early on Thursday morning, with it promised as the clear day of the week. I always like sunrise watching the sky transition from stars to daylight and enjoyed this mornings with a coffee and by binoculars. Here's just after 6am

At first glance the suns disk is blank, but there were a number of small filaments. Taken with with Lunt DS50 and PGR CH3 camera.

Next up I was having a play around with the ED60 and double stacked Quark, this time with the IMX249 sensor.

It was hazy for these closer images, but on the whole i'm pleased with this setup when conditions are less than idea. Few more to process i think.

Thanks everyone, back to cloud today. Here's a few more:
A poor focus cak full disk with the 40mm scope and PGR CH3.

I tried a few closeups with the 203mm HaT, but conditions were not allowing me to make use of this much aperture to its full potential.

Thanks Robert, thanks Alfred. Yes, I use a tilt adapter to get rid of interference rings.

Hi Mark,
Nice FDs with the DSLunt50. Awesome pictures from ED60 and double stacked Quark. Did you use a tilt adjuster?

Re: Thursday Sunshine - 5th April
Great to see you enjoyed the day Mark, I was thinking of you and wondering if you were making the most of it. You certainly were, and these are great!
I was wishing I could get the C11 out but sadly I was at work and sadly I still don't have and plates on it to mount it I think Darren will be fixed before I get that working. I am also getting a bit sick of work too, now the microscope is finally working (only took a year after the fire) I have now done 2 weeks worth of imaging. Now I have thousands of images to process, I can do about 50 per hour and work non-stop from 7.30 - 4pm and I am pig sick of image processing. Only few more thousand to go the thought of doing images at home really puts me off.

Re: Thursday Sunshine - 5th April
I'm so jealous, Mark. I had to go into work after an extended Easter break on probably the best sunny day of the year (dare I say, so far?). I could only sit in the office and curse the fact that I was there and not on my scopes. Still, bills need to be paid.....
Great shots. Those larger aperture beasts really do need the very best of conditions to get the best out of them. Quite a rarity around these parts.
Let's hope for further opportunities as the season progresses.

A beautiful set of images, Mark. It looks like you had a very nice session. The FD's come out really well, full of detail with your 50DS.

Thanks everyone, one last shot I found from the session, with the 60mm f6 and single stack Daystar Quark...
