AR12706 in a Single and a Double stack modes through my 280mm scope.

Post by Valery »

Hello, friends

Here are the results of my April 22 morning imaging session with my trusty 280mm SCT equipped with the ARIES full aperture 295mm two bands dielectric energy rejection filter.

I have imaged the sun with single and double stacked etalons. However the pictures are much more similar than this can be seen in other etalons stacking or SS.

The seeing was mostly poor that morning and I were able to take only a very few images with good resolution.

Thanks for looking.

Valery

Hi Val,

Thanks for your high estimation of my hamble efforts.

Hope you will have good weather for solar imaging. Now is excellent AR12706 in it's best position.

Very interesting, Valery. The second one, single stack, seems to be sharper that the first one.

Both great.

Beautiful! Is the doublestack image a crop?
And another question: although the regular advice is to set Gamma at neutral (and I understand why) I sometimes find that turning the Gamma down when imaging makes it easier to process the image to a really good one with a lot of details. Off course the reason could be my lack of processing skills. What is your experience? And do you set gamma at neutral when imaging? Thanks in advance, Bart.

Valery...

Excellent images, with a nice comparison of SS vs DS modes. Your efforts from capture through processing have produced superb results!!!

Hello Valery,
The contrast of your etalons is impressive !

Your SolSp RG 0,3A is far better for imaging and even better for visual, I believe.
