Gimp or Photoshop cs3

Post by denababy »

Hi, as usual I’m looking for help and advice. I have managed to get to the point in processing where I need to merge the surface and proms prior to colouring, but there are no YouTube videos that show me how using Gimp, that is, none that I can find, are there any vids of Gimp in the same manner of the Wise Imaging vid. I could buy Photoshop but when I look there seems to be so many I’m sure I’ll get the wrong one, any help please.

Hi:
I have not used Gimp, just Photoshop C5.
Hope that someone can help you with Gimp.
Regards,
Eric.

I always use GIMP, no experience with PS. To merge surface and proms you simply need to select the surface, copy and paste it on the proms disc. Surface shall be slightly enlarged (1-2 %) to fit well into the proms image that is usually slightly larger being overexposed.

There’s a good basic tutorial in the Library- a very good starting point.
Photoshop is very expensive and 99% of the capability can be found in the much cheaper PaintShopPro. That’s what I would use.

Hi Merlin66 where is this library? Do you mean the local library or is there one on this site?
