C11 out for a third time and it gets better and better!

Post by Montana »

Well, I think this weekend was a once in 30 year experience. We have had wall to wall clear blue skies for a full three days and it coincided perfectly with a May day holiday Monday. The seeing was also fantastic and today was better than ever. I was amazed staring at the screen and watching a near perfect solar granulation through the C11, it was the most beautiful experience of my life. Pity my images don't do the experience justice but then images are never as good as the real thing. I added some colour today for a bit of a difference.

C11 / ND3.8 Baader film / 3x Barlow / Continuum filter + UV/IR cut / Grasshopper 3

I have a funny feeling I might never see these conditions again but I did enjoy it while it lasted :seesaw

Fantastic images, Alexandra. As you say, conditions that are all too infrequent.

Glad it's up and running well.

Great results and interesting experiments in your previous post with alternative filters. I must try the red filter some time. While you had sun we have had wind and rain as usual!

Hi Alexandra,

Amazing!! Thanks for sharing the outcome of your experiment.

It is a pity they don't sell the larger format ND3.8 Baader film

These are looking great Alexandra. I was showing these to my Son & he was amazed in what he was seeing - I told him each granulation was about 1000 km wide & he was impressed - I also got why can't you image them!!!!!
