First trial - T250 + CaK

Post by allhoest »

My T250 newton is treated to partly reflect the blue spectrum.
I made some pics in Kline already.
Now is it time to try in CaK.

Here, with the Lunt CaK setup mounted on the scope:
T250 + barlow x2

Here, with the filter as a CaK mod:
T250 + barlow x2.5
Well, the x2.5 brings a strange optical effect.

The x2 looks great.

Alex,
Very nice.
What’s the native focal ratio?

Good start in the CaK, Alex!

The aperture does it's job nicely!

Hi!
Thanks for the comments.

The mirror is coated to reflect the red domain (for Ha) and the deep blue in less extend however. It was treated by MCM Optique in France.

The mirror was ground at f7, so F1750mm.

Good shot! That barlow introduces some strange aberrations.

Thank you Mark. I was using a Powermate x2.5.
Reading comments from others, the powermate has an evident field curvature when the distance to the ccd is too big.
Which was the case, because I was using the original diagonal between the powermate and the CCD.

Valery, thank you. But you are going in even higher resolution with your scope.
