AR2712 - 20180530

Post by PDB » Wed May 30, 2018 11:21 am

Hi,

Nice blue sky, but by the time I had set my equipment outside, clouds rolled in. Some patches between the clouds but with very bad seeing. Getting focus was almost impossible, but AstroGenika with focus aid did very well.

Just when a small hole in the clouds appeared, seeing seemed to freeze for a moment and I was able to record 1 ser file.
AR2712 - C8 f/10 Astrosolar ND5 Baader UV/IR and ASI178MM
Camera was set to highspeed (10bit ADC) mode to crank up speed to 160 FPS with ROI of 1056x736

That's a really nice picture, lovely granulation and little pores :bow :hamster: it is the little detail which is great!

Thanks Eric and Alexandra.
Think there was 10 seconds of better seeing, and I was lucky to use them.
