This telescope vacuum tube and adaptive optics which uses real time wave front analyzer with closed loop. Therefore after the seeing reaches a certain level (say, 1,5") then the AO makes the image literally diffraction limited for such an aperture.
Without an AO you still need a lucky imaging technique (LIT). In general, if a local seeing is OK, then LIT can deliver the same level of detalization as an AO. LIT is a like "post-factum AO". If an AO corrects wave front defomations, the LIT just rejects too distorted image fragments.
