Sunspots 2713 & 2715 in HR, Full Discs, 656nm & 393nm | June 23rd 2018

Post by MalVeauX »

Heya,

I woke up way too early this morning but was greeted to a non-storming-sky here in Florida. A treat for a weekend perhaps. The sun wasn't even high enough to throw light onto my observatory. Regardless, I was set up and ready and when the light hit my objectives at 08:30 I was gathering data in decent seeing.

Not a lot of great prominences on the limbs today. Two noteworthy larger prominences, but they're not near AR2713 unfortunately (love seeing a spot and a prom together, but not today) to allow for a great last goodbye image as 2713 rounds off the limb by the end of today likely. I didn't image the two prominences today simply because they were lonely and while interesting in high resolution, I was a little more interested in the spots in two wavelengths instead. Some interesting activity still happening in 2713. Can't complain with 3 active regions still in our FOV for a bit longer!

AR2715 is still an interesting spot with activity, hopefully it will remain for another 2 days as it approaches the limb as well. My favorite time to see a spot is at the limb with some proms together as a single view, hoping for that!

Very best,
