Hello everyone...

A long absence from posting in the past few months...work has limited my ability to catch any sun, though I do try to follow everyone's posts as best I can. The last images I posted were from late May, though I have a session from mid June that I need to finish off.

The long weekend here presented more sunny skies, but it is hot. I finished imaging shortly before the noon hour and the temperature was already over 35C in the shade Much of the afternoon was spent in the pool

Disk activity was limited so there were not a lot of image taken. First is a full disk Ha through the LS80T/B1200Ha solar scope double stacked with the LS75FHa etalon. There were a few filaments across the southern disk, a few small proms, and the remains of AR2715 as it rounded the western limb: I set the modded CR-150/DSII/B1800Ha modded scope up to get some higher resolution disk images. The proms and departing AR showed up well, but the filament needed a narrower bandpass to show better: That's all from Sunday...Mondays session is in the works.

The long days have limited solar viewing, but I have managed to get a few views of Jupiter after work. Below is one of the better images taken on June 29th through the C14:

Nice views Brian .I am chuckling at the temps because I,m cold here at 11C with wind.On another note I could be onto a 158mm Apo refractor but will wait and see. I am off to Hobart for a few days break perhaps I will see some Auroral activity if the Sun plays ball.I am in a quite period at the moment and have moved my entire Honey crop which is good.Hope all is well for you and your family.

Lovely to see all your images Brian even if the Sun is very quiet

We are having scorching weather too, weeks and weeks of dry and been 27 degrees every day for the last 2 weeks and no end in sight! none of us know what to do, we will run out of water soon for sure, we only seem to hold around 2 months of water as it is usually never more than 3 days before it rains. We have had no rain in Cheshire since April apart from one 10 minute shower. Our green and pleasant land is now very brown indeed and combustible too, we have had two major fires on the moorland above Manchester and that is usually classed as arctic tundra but it is very black now. They are very worried about the small population of mountain hares that live there, I think it will have destroyed this fragile habitat. I am enjoying the Sun though

Derek...the low teens C is certainly cool, nights have been warmer than that the past few weeks here. Is that a typical temperature for this time of year...I know the summers are hot and my 35C is 10 deg less that what I hear reported. As much as the current weather is hot, I can't fathom temps in the 40's Good to hear you have the years honey marketed...a decent price I hope!

Alexandra...I haven't heard that the UK is in a heat wave, the international news feeds usually pick up on that sort of thing but work has had me so busy I missed most of the news the past few months. You have been drier that my part of the world, but the dry weather is now starting to affect crops and a good soaking rain is much needed. Hopefully the hares and their supportive ecosystem bounce back for the fires.
