Sun from 30th June and Noctilucent clouds

Post by Montana »

I am a bit late, I was sick last weekend, then a very busy week at work but finally catching up.

Finally after 6 years of looking it seems I was looking at the wrong time. Instead of 1 hr after sunset I should have been looking 1hr before dawn.

Great images Alexandra. I regularly receive NLC alert from the BAA but I've never seen them, I am too south.

Very nice Alexandra.

seen a couple of NLC displays this year but the street lamps have spoiled the shots.

Hi, Alexandra

Those are great looking full disks and prom details.

Do those noctilucent clouds glow because they are catching refracted sunlight or some other reason? I say refracted because you mentioned that you looked an hour before dawn.

Thanks everyone :) more to come from yesterday but it may take me a week to process.

Amazing detail on the full disks, Alexandra. Lots of surface detail and thin wispy proms visible in the high resolution images.

Cheers, Peter.

Sorry I am a bit late to the party and have just got round to catching up.
Beautiful set. Love the detail you get and the limb sharpness on your FDs.
I don't think I have ever seen any noctilucent clouds let alone imaged them.
Best wishes,
David

Thanks Alexandra enjoyed the video we don,t get those clouds here.Just been away for a week and now trying to coordinate picking up a 158mm refractor with a motorised feather touch focuser. Will try to get around to posting some pics later.PS when you and hubby eventually come down under make sure you get a week in Tasmania .
