Mosiac of the active region 7/16

Post by FlankerOneTwo »

Had a go at putting together a 6 panel mosaic of the fading AR2713, was relieved to see it actually come together OK. Using a shorter 15 sec capture time seems to help with the softness of some features, seeing did require me to stack somewhat fewer frames - this was a 500 frame stack. JPGified for posting. I think solarchat reduced them also, images are 2300x1800. 10" LX200 ACF, Aries D-ERF, Quark Combo. Thanks for looking!

Also experimented with a different palette to highlight the plage a little better.

Very nicely done mosaic. A great idea at this image scale.

Cheers, Peter.

These are cracking!! yes Solarchat does reduce the size for the preview. If you right click on the image and 'view image in a new tab' then click on it you see it in full size and glory. I do this for nearly all the images on here.

A mosaic at high resolution is very "hazardous" to me.
Too much depend on the seeing, especially for 6 frames. All frames must be good.
