Thanks everyone! Not a tow path capture Steve, I need to get a more portable setup to do this (it is on my list!) - however the DS50 is quite a heavy setup - 4kg+ - so not sure how it would cope on a skywatcher solarquest https://www.firstlightoptics.com/skywat ... ripod.html - which would be my preferred setup. I could probably lose some weight from the scope - losmandy plate and tube rings, but I still think I would be pushing it. The scope is very nose heavy with the double stacked etalons so balance is my concern.
