ISS transit on July 30 2018

Post by Albuqshutterbug »

I wanted to shoot this transit with my Lunt 60mm and get the ISS and the really nice bands of prominences along the rim.
This is a single shot extracted from a one second video using a Celestron 236M CMOS and pulling the shot using Microsoft Movie Maker.
It was nice to watch the entire transit instead of hoping I manage to capture the shot.
The second link is to the video.
Jim ( Yes I am still out here.. )

Thank you Mark.
I am a little out of practice but hoping the weather will start co-operating a bit more.

Awwww thank you Alexandra.
I have pulled the singles out and now need to find the directions for turning them into a single shot with the ISS going across.
I keep pushing for bigger and better.

Thank you Stu,
I used a program called transit finder that lets me decide how far I am willing to travel to be on center line.
It then does the searching for me based on my location and lets me plan before hand if I can make it there.
This one I only had to travel about 3 miles to get.
I have another next week that I would have to travel 20 miles but the ISS will be much lower so almost twice this size.
Unfortunately I have to work.

Thank you very much Brian.
It's funny how much work we do to get a 1 second clip of images and the time it takes to process into what we want.
Now if I can find a tutorial on making the 30 singles into a single shot.

Thank you Derek,
I posted a composite that I created from the link that was posted in my post asking for an easy tutorial.
I really like the results for a first time effort.
