Active Region 2717 & Prominences | 60mm & 150mm | Aug 3rd 2018

Heya,

Woke up to a cloudy, but blue sky. I don't mind shooting through sucker holes! Managed some decent seeing at smaller scales. At my largest scale, it was challenging to get workable data as the seeing just wouldn't support the focal length. I dropped my scale with a 0.5x focal reducer and managed to get much better data. Then shot at my lowest scale to compare. Then as seeing seemed a little below average, I shot some data at my largest scale again just to see if I could get lucky on a few frames and managed something, but it's far from what I would have wanted normally. I'll take it though. This summer has been awful for anything weather and sky related here in Florida.

Equipment:

Scale 1: Celestron 152mm F8 Refractor + UV/IR cut filter + 210mm Extensions + 0.5x Focal Reducer
Scale 2: Orion 80mm F5 refractor (masked to 60mm F6.666) + UV/IR cut Filter + 130mm Exensions
Scale 3: Celestron 152mm F8 Refractor + UV/IR cut filter + 210mm Extensions (No Focal Reducer)
