Post by Ewan »

Apart from the flats the C8 SCT IMX174 White Light combo looks promising. Unlike Ha imaging i found you do need to image the sun earlier for best results, i started today at 2pm. Seeing plays an even bigger part with convection cell capturing, well for me at least, with no large details to get focus with, that took a while as well.

Celestron C8 SCT, Astro Solar ND3.8 White Light filter, PG IMX174 & Baader 1.25" CCD Green Filter.. Best 30% from 6000 frames stacked in AS!3 sharpened in IMPPG.

Sorry the images are not that good but re building the WL filter, working out extensions, barlow etc connections in that heat today i forgot my flats & im a little annoyed with that tbh.
Better luck next time.

Glad to see you are using the solar film :hamster: however I can't see the tif images, can you change to JPEG?
