August 5th - Part 2

Post by MapleRidge »

Hi all...

It took a few hours this afternoon to finish processing the balance of the images collected of Sunday. As mentioned in the first post I had a set imaged through the 5x Powermate, but I also had some Ha sets that were imaged in the red and blue wings. I'll start with the 5x series, taken through the modded CR150/DSII/B1800Ha + 5x Powermate + ZWO174MM camera
.

The first region was the emerging active region on the eastern limb, first imaged with the DSII etalon set at 0 PSI which shows a wide Ha band:

The next series have the etalon tuned to the midpoint of the Ha:

The image below is the remains of AR2717 with the tuned etalon (my continuum image did not work out):

The following images used the same setup, but with a 3x tele-converter. I adjusted the pressure in the DSII etalon to image the red and blue wings of the Ha line. Each region is shown in the following order...Red Wing/On-Band/Blue Wing, starting on the eastern limb:

The last region is the remains of AR2717:

This should finish off the session from Sunday. Another round to process from today, but they will be a few days before they are all processed and posted.

Brian

Another great set, I like the wing comparisons a lot. I always forget to do this and yet it is always interesting when I see others do it.

Nice session, Brian!

Hope you will have many clear sunny days with a good seeing like this one.
