Today's Big Prominence Group & Convection Cells | Aug 10th 2018

Heya,
Not a lot of proms today, but one really nice grouping. Seeing was decent between the clouds today, maybe the turbulence of the summer is finally calming. This was later in the day for me, which is abnormal, so maybe it was a fluke. I was able to image at the full scale of the 6 inch refractor that I was using to try and resolve more of the prominence grouping and since I saw finger-like spicules on the limb, I figured seeing must be decent. Not a lot of other features to really look at, so just spent time on the prominence and then fooled around with the active region a little too and looked at the convection cells in white light using a near UV filter to increase contrast of the convection cells.
HA: Celestron 152mm F8 with 210mm Extensions & UV/IR Cut filter (ERF) + Quark + ASI174MM
WL: Celestron 152mm F8 with 160mm Extensions & Baader Blue CCD Filter (ERF) & 375~395nm Cut Filter + 3x Barlow + ASI174MM
