August 6th - Finally Done

Post by MapleRidge »

Hi all...

It has taken most of the week to process the images from this past Monday...been trying to clear up the backlog of paperwork at work before taking holidays. Monday was a holiday here, so I had more freedom to work at imaging and the seeing wasn't too bad either.

The first images are full disk Ha, taken through the LS80/L75FHa/B1200Ha DS solar scope, using separate disk and limb images (limb inverted). There were few proms this day and few disk details. I was hoping the region that emerged a few days earlier would develop into something of interest but it never did.

This is a longer exposure to show the smaller, faint proms with the disk blocked out:

I ran the remaining image sets through the modded CR150/DSII/B1800Ha with a 3x tele-converter ahead of the ZWO 174MM camera. The remains of AR2717 were approaching the western limb, shown below as a deep red filtered image (2 frame mosaic DSII Etalon at 0 pressure) and an on band version follows it:

The most interesting region was the area that showed promise on the eastern limb. The following images are mosaic to cover the area, shown Red filtered/Red Wing/On-band/Blue Wing images:

The final image is a two frame mosaic on the NE quadrant which shows the one tuft of filament that was present:

This finishes up my weekend work...questions and comments are always welcome.

I'll be following and answering posts as time permits, but no imaging for the next 10 days or so while on a road trip to the east coast of Canada as part of Sandy and my 25th wedding anniversary. The trip to the UK will be a 2019 summer venture!!!

Take care everyone,
Brian

A fine crop of images, Brian. Enjoy your trip to Canada's east coast and Happy 25th Anniversary! We call this a 'silver wedding' anniversary in the UK.
