Post by rsfoto »

Hi,

Today 15 August 2018 Full disk. Unfortunately with the Quantum still no success but I keep working on it

I had on one mount the Coronado sun and on the other mount the Quantum and searched for the details I was seeing in the Coronado but nothing nada niente nichts ...

As usual in new tab or window for full size over 2000 px

Absolutely stunning in full res :bow :bow
Certainly that new AR and big fluffy worm filament should be easily seen in the Quantum. You need to find the area and gradually turn up/down the heat until you start to see improved surface contrast. It takes a long time to do this but worth the time. Once you know where central line is it will be much faster to find it later (take note of the temperature). I did this experiment with the Quark and I bet it will be similar with all heated etalons https://solarnutcase.livejournal.com/12257.html

Hi Alexandra,

Thanks for the comment and head ups. I will need to install a second fan in order to be able to cool it down ...

I can not read the temperature anywhere on my Quantum. I just see the bandwidth.

Will keep trying but as long as I have those thin clouds I think it is a waste of time. :(
