Heya,
Woke up to bad seeing and a lot of low hanging haze, moisture and some clouds. But, not a lot of time between work, so took the chance. The prominence grouping on the limb is fantastic, huge, lots of detail and wispy features, very interesting structure today. The prominence group is two filaproms I think, hopefully someone with a double-stack can show the feint proms at it's roots around the limb's edge. The large filament persists and is still slowly creeping around the disc. AR2720 has decayed a lot, so I missed out on its peak unfortunately due to work. AR2719 has decayed to just looking like a minor active region with no visible spot anymore. I imaged in two scales and two wavelengths with a Celestron 150mm F8 with and without a focal reducer and the Quark for the HA. Celestron 150mm F8 masked to 100mm F12 with a 3x barlow and PST CaK for the CA. Full disc CaK with an ST80 masked to 60mm with PST CaK filter.

Very nice work, Marty, well done ! I saw that large prominence yesterday, it was pretty impressive before the seeing deteriorated.

Thank you Franco,
It was definitely an amazing prom during the minimum. I started to do 2 minute sequences to do an animation, but my morning stopped as it heated up and the clouds moved in. Florida summer is just a hot mess.

Just as soon as another big spot rolls around, I will attempt something like that! I've never done an animation outside of HA, so I'm hoping for some new targets soon (and less rain and clouds!)

I never thought it like that, I'll definitely do a surface animation then. I'll do it near an active region and see what I can get.

A very fine set of images, Marty. I particularly like those prom shots.
