Prominences 9SEPT2018

Post by Albuqshutterbug »

Played around today and shot a few 1 minute videos of the sun. I used a Lunt pressure tuned solar scope mounted on a celestron CGEM tracking mount. Images were captured with a celestron 236M mono CMOS video camera set at 8 gain and 60 frames per second.
I stacked 20 percent of 2300 frames using Autostakket2 and adjusted wavelets in Registax6.
I sized and trimmed the image in Photoshop CC and this is the resulting image.
I chose not to add color to this image to preserve details.

Wow!! those proms are huge on the solar scale, you can see they are all finely connected between them, what a great shot :bow

Thank you very much Alexandra.
I was pleasantly surprised when I setup and happy with this result.

Thank you very much Franco.
This little scope has been very good to me.
I only wish I could find a decently priced 60mm etalon for it.
