Sunday Sunshine - 23rd september

Post by marktownley »

Had a nice sunday today - Stu and his wife dropped in this morning for a brew and natter then we went out for a spot of lunch. I thought the weather was grotty for the day but then late in the afternoon things just cleared up giving me the first chance for some solar since early august. Starting off with the DS50 I went for the obligatory full disk:

Then I popped in a 2x cemax barlow I picked up secondhand, quite pleased with it, definitely better than the 2x skywatcher i've been using. Some nice little proms today.

I switched scopes for the full disk in CaK with the 40mm..

I was pleasantly surprised at the seeing, so in a fit of madness decided to try some CaK with the 100mm Tal refractor, using the ssm plugin and tens of captures later I managed one that came out ok.

Nice to get some sun in for a change!

Hi, Mark

Your DS50 pulled out some nice details with the new barlow. Seeing must have been good.

It was great catching up at lunchtime, Mark, for a good natter.

A very fine set of images. Glad you managed a solar session later in the afternoon.

By the time I got home and the clouds finally broke, the Sun was barely above the rooftops.

These are fantastic Mark, I really do like the CaK close up and the CaK proms :)

We had a lovely sunny Sunday but the hubby wanted a day trip out, hopefully next weekend the Sun will be out. I haven't done any solar for ages and ages!

Great session Mark, nice images (Ha and Ca-K)

Yesterday I was laky and I did not image the sun, shame on me. The sky was crystal clear

I received the SW SolarQuest mount. I will try it soon
