Sol from the 22nd of September 2018.

Post by eroel »

Hi:
Went to the rural observatory and used my old 6" f/12 AP triplet refractor, fitted with a 2X Baader telecentric and an old Daystar ATM 0.45A° Ha filter.
Just had a brief chance to image the sun through high haze, then it clouded and rained.
Raining season is still very strong in México.
Thanks for looking some images taken with the SKYnyx 2-2 camera, did not check if they are oriented correctly.
Best regards,
Eric.

Hi, Eric

You caught some really intricate details in the proms. Well done.

Alexandra, Mark, Stu, Lou, Franco and Raf:
Thanks for the kind comments.
The old 6" f/12 "Superplanetary" triplet refractor made by AP is an incredible scope, it is mounted on a very old Losmandy HGM200 equatorial with a Gemini drive.
It does no hit the ground when looking at the Zenith, looks like but it does not.
The funny white contraption houses the ATM old Daystar filter, it tilts the original filter housing, so I have the oven and a tilter to adjust the Ha band.
Best regards to all,
Eric.

P.S. Did not had the weather conditions to start playing with the Aries full aperture ERF for my also old (well I am old  ) 10" f/20 TEC Maksutov.
