September 23rd Session

Post by MapleRidge »

Good day everyone...

A return of sunny weather this past weekend, but only time to try imaging on Sunday morning. Disk activity was limited with a few small filaments above it, while the main attractions were the proms along the limb. The image below is a disk/limb composite (limb inverted) taken through the LS80T/LS75FHa/B1200Ha and PGR camera (ICX674 chip):
Full-Ha.jpg

The seeing wasn't working to my advantage, but I tried to get some of the features in higher resolution with a 3x tele-converter and I swapped the ZWO 174MM camera to capture these images. These small mosaics cover the north-eastern and north-western quadrants:

There were 3 main areas of prominences visible, and there is an image to highlight each below. First is the NE limb area:

The next is on the NW limb:

The final image is along the western limb, but the longer exposures did not capture the small loop prom that was noticed on the full disk image. It shows a bit better in the inverted version:
West-Proms.jpg

That pretty much covers the morning efforts. Questions and comments are always welcome.

Brian
