Heya,

Woke up to a cloudy sky but had some sucker holes. The AR's are pretty large, so I had to attempt some mosaics to be able to frame them up. I did two at different times, and you can see the differences in AR2725, it's a feisty little AR and has some activity going on spitting some filaments around in a short period of time. Some large proms are still on the limb, but I had a hard time with them through the clouds which really robbed the transparency and killed the exposure, but they're still represented.

Celestron 150mm F8 Refractor + Daystar 150mm ERF + Baader 50mm UV/IR Block Filter + Quark + ASI174MM
Coronado PST + 1.5x Barlow + ASI174MM

Your images really make me want to get a quark. That thing operates way better than my three pst mod's and 4 lunt scopes i have owned.

Be careful that not all Quarks perform as Marty's one, better to have the possibility to select one among several units.

Thanks for the warning krakatoa!
I wont be buying any solar telescope parts anymore , i am getting out of astronomy.. It was just a reflection of desire, and I know the quarks are 1 good out of 10 bad.... Eventually they will all degrade because that is the nature of daystar products. Blockers and trimmers gotta be replaced after 2 - 3 years...

If i were to buy another h-alpha unit, i would get the 80mm DS pressure tuner module from lunt and retrofit it onto a scope. The etalon is huge on that thing which means a larger sweet spot. It is also made of "A" grade material which means No bs quality control issues, and no part degradation over 10 years. I also prefer dedicated scopes..
