image de-rotation?

Post by TheSkyBurner » Sat Oct 20, 2018 5:41 am

Does anybody know a software to eliminate the rotation in my images, registax has a button for it but it does nothing..

I recorded some really nice convection cells, but the rotation is super annoying!

Wow, i just spent the last hour and a half derotating these 13 frames manually; using gimp. OUCH. There has to be an easier way, other than tossing my alt-az meade mount away :)

I cant wait to record these cells with my 3x!

You can use Autostakkert. It can correct the rotation of images taken with an altazimutal mount.

Ohh I wish I could, but autostakkert is not compatible with my .avi files produced by basler pylon viewer, and firecapture is not compatible with my basler 1300-30gm gige camera.

I emailed both developers multiple times and neither of them could figure out why.

Here are the lucky images I get out of autostakkert, all version.

and here is the same image, same amount of frames stacked using registax. (i still have problems with registax but i still get usable data)

Autostakkert will work fine
tried autostakkert for 2 solid hours. It just locks up every time. It is not compatible with my computer.

No combination of changing the video file works, i tried using Vdub to change the format. I tried using registax to save as registered .avi. There is some memory hole with autostakkert on my computer. I reinstalled it, downloaded the latest version. Downloaded new codecs, deleted old files, flushed my windows registry, defragged my harddrive, increased process priority, eliminated multi threading, ran in compatibility mode.. Nothing fixes it.

It is entirely possible it is my AMD 6-core processor causing the autostakkert error, because I never had problems when using an older intel chip

I also notice that AS! eats up all my ram, i have 8gb usable system memory- but autostakkert only grabs 2gb and that is gone after 800 frames.

I can load up single images that i already pre processed in registax but autostakkert still does not de-rotate them, it also does not align them.

I give up.
