I use IMPPG (free) to align and stabilize.
I use PIPP (free) to turn final individual images into an animated GIF or AVI (turn off stabilization). You tell it the FPS you want.
I use Handbrake (free) to compress the AVI to H264 if uploading to YouTube, etc.

Will the image aligning software have an easier time if the dust bunnies weren't there? I know in the past i've had problems with this.
