I was browsing the SDO website when I noted this image of 06:58 UT

There must be an incoming active region down on the south hemisphere, pretty rare to get an eruption down there for no reason at all like this...

The entire north pole of the sun is completely vacated of plasma too, there is a massive coronal hole around its entire circumference.
(solar pattern baldness?)
