Sol from the 31st of October 2018.

Post by eroel »

Hi:
Today it was worse than yesterday.
Clouds and rain, just the time to get one Ha FD.
Wish you a better weather.
Eric.

Hi, Eric

I've always been impressed (maybe even jealous) of the very pleasing gradient your full disks show from the center to the limb.
Are they like this before processing? I usually have to blend out the unevenness in my mosaic full disks. Maybe it's time for to think about a Solarmax 90 DS for my full disks.

Alexandra, Franco, Brian and Lou:
Thanks for looking, much appreciated.

Lou, I have tried to adjust the best I can the 2 etalons (the internal one with a Richview adjuster) and the BF from my Solarmax 90. It had a very annoying hotspot and was giving a not even disc.
Tried the 3 BF´s I have and the one that gave a better disc was the BF30, though it was much darker that the other 2.

I adjusted the etalons not directly by eye at the scope, but looking at the PC monitor, so to look for the most even and contrasty image I could get.

BTW, here is the image that came out from AS!3 and that also had just a bit of wavelets in Registax 6.(just with the first 2 layers)

After that I use PS and Maxim to finish the "Surface" disc and the "prominence" one and make the different versions as shown.
Best regards and wish you all a sunny weekend.
Eric.

Hi Eric,

Nice to see your FD images. They always are excellent.

Too bad you was not able to please us with images taken with a 10" Mak.

Valery and Pedro:
Just got to the rural observatory to start testing the 10" f/20, but it is raining :-((
Hope that tomorrow I have a break to start imaging with the full aperture Aries ERF.
Raining season in Mexico has gone beyond the normal date, so I don´t know when I will have some chance to image the Sun and also the Moon, planets and deep sky objects.
A couple of years ago my good seeing and dark skies started in October, now I don´t know.
We have some holidays due to the death days, so that is why I am at the observatory today.
Have a nice and sunny weekend.
Eric.

Valery:
As you can se, still have not had the opportunity to use the 10" f/20 Mak with the Aries ERF.
This weekend rained every day. :(
Best wishes,
Eric.
