Second image with the larger "PST" and brass tube is the older "original".
The "Gold" anodised tube is a recent change....
Many of the older "Gold" objective PST's with lower serial numbers were upgraded (under warranty) to the "Blue" objective and ITF in the eyepiece tube, so it's difficult to go by just the serial.
(You may also find differences in the height of the eyepiece holder....some were 5mm longer than others, making fitting cameras even more difficult.)
