Something brewing Dec 9th

Post by MapleRidge » Sun Dec 09, 2018 4:57 pm

Hi all...

I had clear skis this morning and the western limb has a bit of activity where AR2729 is rotating off the disk. There has been a small prom visible, but the interesting part is that it has a bright core near the limb...looks a lot like the structure that was forming before the loop prom that developed following a flare back in Sept 2017.

Might be worth keeping an eye on it and see if anything develops.

Franco...

After weeks of mostly cloud covered skies it was nice to have a clear morning!

It has clouded over since lunch so I will have to see if anything else comes of the region.

I saw it as well when we had a tiny opening in the cloud deck. Quite bright, but still very small. Indeed it did remind me of the beginnings of that big loop, one that I was fortunate enough to see nearly the full development of. Perhaps Derek might catch something for us in the morning

Bruce and Alfred...

Hopefully it makes for some great view and images, but so far it is just a curiosity ;)

I wonder where the sun is going, here in Belgium are only clouds?

Many thanks for the comments Pedro and Maurits :bow

Starting to sound like I was catching the decline of the activity around the departing AR based on what those in Europe were seeing earlier in the day.
