Nice scope, Pedro! Congratulations. But... it probably need a nice ARIES Chromacor. No?

It needs a nice big ERF Pedro. Be interesting to see how you get on with it in white light.

Re: BIG gun (APM180 f/6 Achromat)
I have a big ERF (165mm) and I had a Chromacor but I sold it recently
With narrowband filters it will be fine. My LUNT152 has an achromatic lens at it works fine in continuum
I tried it today and the chromatic aberration is present but it is not horrible

Hi Pedro...
The scope looks great and should make a great addition to your equipment portfolio.
Happy birthday as well

Re: BIG gun (APM180 f/6 Achromat)
Such a fast beast requires special Chromacor which will work at F/6. I got such one - it worked kust fine with my 150mm F/5 scope and it shows either white moon and Jupiter. I never think to sell it before. But now I am getting older and I completely lost interest to night astronomy.
Also a 185mm DERF is waiting for a beast like this . My next refractor will be 10" F/6 Fluorite and so, this DERF is seeking a nice home. It is a classic Schott RG630 glass with IR cut coating. Quite rare glass in such a size.

Re: BIG gun (APM180 f/6 Achromat)
It was made my Markus Ludes and this is the reason why it has the TMB logo
I know that at least eight 180mm F/6 were made (mine is number 8)

Congrats on the light cannon and happy birthday. I have that same mount. How much does the 180 weigh?

The APM180 weights only 11 Kg, much less than my TMB175 (23 Kg)
