Lifting filament 24 Febraury

The fairly long filament was enough to get me outside to do some imaging after a long break. A couple of images from Saturday show a bit of the detail in the structure. A look at GONG this morning showed the filament was already lifting off, so I went outside and grabbed a few shots as it faded away. Not spectacular, but interesting to see some action on the sun at the moment.

These are very good shots David and show the filament fading away. I had hoped it would hang on a few days till clear skies returned :(
