Sun 2019-03-07 Full Disk

Post by rsfoto »

Hi,

Here is the Sun from yesterday with the tiny Sun spot numbered 2734. Without wanting to show off but this in my opinion is one of my best full disks in regard to illumination.

As I have posted before I have a Quantum PE 0.4Å and I expected to get better details if not at least the same details as this double stacked SM60 with BF30 from Coronado but the Quantum PE 0.4Å has really disappointed me ... I am thinking in eventually sending it back for refund to DayStar filters ...

I can not even tune the bandwidth down as my area is so far that turning down the heater has 0 zero effect.

As usual a 9 image Mosaic best seen in new tab or window.

Thanks for looking.

Nice disk Rainer, do agree, that Quantum doesn't sound right.

Hi Rainer,

Yes this one is by far the best of your series. To get rid of the last uneven bands have you tried with pseudo flats? (the way Marty does) That might still give a more "even" look.

Sorry to hear about that Quantum. One should expect that from a Quark, but not from a $$$$$ PE model. Where is Daystar's quality control?
(I had almost convinced myself, to order a new Quark to replace my 2nd defective Quark, but think I will hold off, and maybe consider something else)

Regards from cloudy Mortsel area ... ;)

Paul

Thanks everybody.

Will study the possibility to make synthetic flats.

BTW the ones who do not know it, Paul and I were born in the same town, Mortsel Belgium, in the same hospital, the same month with a few days of difference

I do not remember if the same year but I think Paul is younger then me
