Heya,
I woke up to another blue sky this morning, what fortune. Lovely to see AR2736 rounding the limb, with it are prominences, though small ones. I'm hoping for a bit more activity as the sunspot itself rounds the limb so that those filaments moving around the poles within the region show some limb activity hopefully. We will see later today! Seeing was ok today. I was able to finally image some convection cells (center of disc, I cannot get cells on the limb, angle maybe?) in high resolution. I did a small mosaic again of AR2736 in higher resolution. Presented in both HA and white light.

Here's 5 hour difference of transit time towards the limb in good seeing and worse seeing, from 10am to 3pm (Eastern Time). There's still plenty of time on this spot before it cross the limb, probably another 4~5 hours easy from my location & perspective. But it will be dark by then, so I will miss the crossing. It's still flaring as you can see!

And she's round the limb... all that remains is a bright plage on the limb, but it's now night time, tomorrow, a blank and bald disc once more!

A great set of images there Marty! Will hopefully get to see the remnants in a bit...

Re: AR2736 at the Limb, Convection Cells, Full Disc | HA & WL | March 23rd 2019
This was my first time getting convection cells with my new scope (C8 Edge) at full scale (for the wavelength of deep red, 610~656nm). I'm curious if it would make any difference, if I had a 430nm filter for g-band and if it would resolve the tiny ferrous spots between cells under good seeing of course, or if this aperture is still too small to see any real difference? Anyone have any experience with g-band with smaller scopes like this? I know most examples I've seen are from much larger apertures. I realize it would require good seeing to even begin to hope to see it, at 430nm, and I also realize I would need to increase my imaging scale to match the wavelength properly (so not F20, more like F30ish?) and it will require excellent seeing. Just curious if this is worth exploring or if my aperture is insufficient to ever bother with g-band.
Thanks,

Marty, those are looking good. I can see the higher resolution system is showing. Steady skies and Wow!

Wow! I really do love your granulation shots I have no idea about the G band question though
