2019 FUNDRAISER UNDER WAY!! PLEASE DONATE
Okay, here we go!
2019 CBSAP/SUNLIT EARTH FUNDRAISER!!
Beginning today, we start a fundraiser to continue the international efforts of the Charlie Bates Solar Astronomy Project and the local and national efforts of Sunlit Earth.
When I stopped, post great American eclipse, doing public schools after 10 years, I forfeited the cash support from Meade and Celestron as I felt I could continue with just their equipment sponsorships and the small group of monthly supporters that have made this program what it is.
We don't pay any salaries or do any hokey stuff with our finances, we just provide outreach and pay administrative costs. We had a good income stream to do this for a couple years without a fundraiser but times have changed recently..
Unfortunately, last year 3 of our monthly donors, after having been great supporters for years, decided to pull out and one of our monthly donors passed away recently. This has left us in need of an infusion of cash support and some new monthly donors in order to stay a nonprofit 501c3.
We support groups around the world in arranging for astronomy equipment/supplies shipments, we do nature hikes with an emphasis on sunlight from the Sun's core to the animals and plants, we maintain the largest solar imaging forum on the internet, we have sponsored several international astronomy organizations in countries including Kosovo, Australia, Tunisia, Brazil, Columbia, England, Canada and of course here in the US. We also do constant internet broadcasts highlighting sunlight from the telescope to the microscope and everywhere in between.
The goal of this organization is to get people to learn about sunlight and all of its awesomeness from astronomy to imaging it to the ways it keeps all life on Earth from perishing and anything associated with it.
Please consider a generous (tax free where allowed) donation to The Charlie Bates Solar Astronomy Project during our fundraiser and maybe even sign up to be a monthly sponsor. I think it is a great cause and we have an 11 year proven track record of doing great things in science.
Please use PayPal.me/CBSAP to make your donations.
Drive ends April 30th. Our goal is $15,000

Re: 2019 FUNDRAISER UNDER WAY!! PLEASE DONATE
This forum has helped me tremendously. Unfortunately Paypal rejected my funds transfer. It also did not allow me to send the funds even when Stephen sent me an invoice. I finally figured out that our in-country finance control system that prevented me from making a contribution through paypal. I worked with Stephen and found another way to send funds. Do let Stephen know if you are facing the problem. Cheers.
