Solar Analemma. This outstanding image from Alexandra Hart taken over a period of 4 years charts the midday position of the sun in the sky throughout the year. The north–south component of the analemma results from the change in the Sun's declination due to the tilt of Earth's axis of rotation. The east–west component results from the nonuniform rate of change of the Sun's right ascension, governed by combined effects of Earth's axial tilt and orbital eccentricity.

Quick session early doors 11/04/2019 Tal/PST mod

Post by DJD » Thu Apr 11, 2019 9:55 am

I had hoped that the seeing would be pristine this morning. Sadly still a bit wobbly like yesterday.
Here is a quick processed image of the AR. I am hoping that I can rescue some proms later.
50 frames from a 1800 frame concatenated SER.

Best wishes,

Very nice results David. The prom zone is very interesting. I'm jealous that I'm not getting out to enjoy any of this recent activity!

That’s a heck of a nice image, Dave. The illumination across the field is beautifully even.

Thank you all. I was surprised at the level of detail given the amount of turbulence, but thankful
for any clear spells ( and something to image :-) )
Stu, I used a plastic bag flat to rid me of some faint NRs, that seems to be the best panacea for me.
Best wishes,
