A pleasantly sunny start to the day so I darted out with the travelling kit - 50mm Lunt etalon on the 60mm f6 scope, 2x cemax, FLIR GH3 ICX916M

Even quiet in CaK! a couple of bright points in higher northern latitudes - maybe indication of the solar jet stream in cycle 25?

Above taken with the 40mm f10, 2x cemax, homebrew CaK filter and the same camera. Wish there was more to see!

Thanks Maurits, thanks Alexandra. It's exactly bright points like these we need to keep an eye on. They start off like this, as the solar jetstream for cycle 25 gets closer to the surface they become emerging flux regions, and then once the magnetic field strength gets above 1500 gauss we have spots. I don't think we're quite there yet though!
