Cak Chromosphere

Post by Carbon60 »

A random patch on the solar disk in CaK.

Technosky 125 (stopped to 110mm), Lunt B600 CaK module, Omega filter and Baader K-line with a 5x Powermate and Basler acA1920-155um camera.

A light touch on ImPPG this time :) Finished in PixInsight.

Thanks for looking.

Really nice CaK picture, Stu!

Pixinsight is on my list of future projects, too! In particular I'd like to try the different options for deconvolution that PI offers and see if they help improving solar images. Did you do deconvolution in PI?

Hi Frank,

I use ImPPG to perform deconvolution and sharpening. I find it easier to use than PixInsight in this regard, although I haven't really tried that hard to optimise the workflow in PI and it might be excellent if you persist with it.
